The Municipality of Brescia (Italy) and ADL Zavidovici have joined forces to improve migrant integration through a Community of Practice as part of EPIC-UP project.
The Municipality of Brescia (Italy) and ADL Zavidovici have launched a Community of Practice (CoP) to enhance the integration of people with migrant backgrounds. A CoP is a collaborative platform that applies participative approaches to design effective integration strategies, by facilitating knowledge exchange and shared experiences.
The launch event, hosted by ADL Zavidovici on 27 February, brought together a diverse network of stakeholders, including public authorities, civil society organisations, migrant associations, NGOs, and researchers. Discussions focused on improving the engagement of young people with migrant backgrounds in public spaces in Brescia. The ideas generated during this session will serve as the foundation for future meetings, with the goal of translating them into concrete projects.
Additionally, participants exchanged insights on potential initiatives inspired by successful practices from other parts of Italy. These examples could provide scalable models for enhancing public spaces and fostering social inclusion in Brescia.
The kick-off event set a strong foundation for ongoing collaboration within the EPIC-UP project, establishing a productive environment for future planning and action. By analysing best practices and policies across Europe, the CoP aims to identify key priorities, facilitate peer-to-peer learning, and co-design integration strategies that effectively address the needs of both migrant and local communities.
