The Public Benefit Municipal Enterprise of Piraeus (KODEP) was established in 2011 with the completion of the merger process of the public benefit enterprises “Public Benefit Municipal Enterprise for Social Integration and Care of Foreigners of Piraeus” and “Public Benefit Municipal Enterprise for Social Welfare of Piraeus” and constitutes a Legal Entity under Private Law.
The KODEP is subsidized for specific actions, which aim to organize functions or activities and provide services related or associated with the responsibilities of the Municipality of Piraeus that have been assigned to it by it based on the Two-Year Program.
The purpose of the Public Benefit Enterprise is to take care of all the social problems of the citizens and residents within the administrative boundaries of the Municipality of Piraeus. More specifically, the main pillars of the enterprise are:
- Caring for the care of the economically and socially weaker citizens.
- Their feeding.
- The clothing of needy and homeless citizens or residents.
- Caring for the public’s information on health and prevention issues.
- The implementation of policies and actions aimed at caring for and supporting vulnerable social groups.
