The Gdansk-Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area was established in 2011 to strengthen cooperation and to achieve the harmonious development of the entire metropolitan area around Gdansk, by making the best use of the potential of the member cities and municipalities, while at the same time respecting their differences and particular characters. The work of the Gdansk-Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area is handled by committee meetings that focus on different themes. They discuss and implement specific projects such as social development (including migrant’s integration), mobility, the joint purchase of goods and services or the preparation of development plans and investment funds that cover several local authorities.
