After 3 and a half years of an exciting journey, EPIC comes to an end. Since January 2020, the 16 EPIC partners have exchanged experiences and tested how to replicate existing services in other territories to achieve more efficient local services of their own in response to the needs of migrants. Local and international events, and alternative narrative campaigns have also been part of the transversal activities that the consortium has carried out in the midst of a challenging period for all. The eruption of the health crisis with COVID-19 and other great dangers such as humanitarian crises, conflicts, and wars as the ongoing invasion of Ukraine, have revealed not only the vulnerability of some public services when they are placed under exceptional pressure but also how such crises tend to hit migrant communities harder than other communities. Even so, the project has managed to reinvest and conclude its activities, ensuring that its co-creation and implementation have been carried out with a human rights approach.

With this, the time has come to reflect and share these conclusions and solutions.

The event will be opened by an International Networking Path on the 6th of June afternoon, which will be a chance to exchange in an interactive way on migrants’ integration starting by looking at the project’s results and through different thematics (education, employment, legal and administrative support, housing, health, narrative, civic engagement, and policy-making).

The following day, the 7th of June, the Final Conference of the EPIC project will take place from 10 AM to 7 PM. The event foresees a roundtable discussion in the morning session and a presentation of the project’s outcome in the afternoon, highlighting the importance of the cooperation between cities and CSOs at the local level as an opportunity for inspiration, reflection, and debate with participants.

The conference is an opportunity to bring together public and private representatives to discuss and reflect on the challenges around the reception and integration of people with migration background, starting from the sharing of the project results.
